He's a mover AND a shaker...

So today we were all in the kitchen and Anders walked into the living room while Cam and I continued the cleaning we were doing. Cam peeked around the corner and standing alone in the living room Anders was dancing to a song we had playing. Cam even said that he was keeping a beat!! So of course I had to pull out the camera and talk him into doing it again. Because even though he dances, it's pretty rare... but today he was a dancing fool!

11 Months

He Hits,

He Kicks,

He Screams,

He Bites,

Doesn't sleep well,

But we love him anyways! He dances, he runs, he says grandma, grandpa and Lola (Nona). And in a month he will be a year old...going on twenty.

How lucky am I...: Part I

To have married this amazing guy?

And to have been blessed to create this beautiful child, whom I love to the ends of this earth?

First Haircut

And here's the disaster I made:

I think I got a little overzealous about cutting off his curls. First thing I did was grab the curls back there and cut them off. Not thinking for a second of how it would look. Next step was to grab the clippers and just shave as much as I could bear off. This is what we ended up with. I could bawl!
P.S. That picture just doesn't do it justice!

10 Months

It's hard to believe that my baby will be ten months old this weekend. TWO MONTHS away from being a year old. Time flies when you're having fun.
Anders is one busy little guy. He can pretty much walk now. I've counted 11 steps on his own at one point. He just picks and chooses when he wants to walk. But if he has your hand then he only wants to walk and will throw a fit when you try to take your hand away. In fact if he has your hand, he doesn't want to walk, he wants to run.

The first day that he took steps on his own will be one that I remember forever. We had had a really rough week at our house, Anders wasn’t sleeping and therefore neither were we. I couldn’t keep him happy for more then a few minutes, he was teething, him and Cam were getting over a cold, and we were all just miserable. I gave him some Tylenol on Friday night and all of a sudden he was my normal happy baby again.

Saturday morning he woke up and still was just as happy as ever. I was in the living room snapping some pictures of him walking around the furniture. He got to the end of the couch and gave me a look that said, "are you ready for this?" And I am sooo NOT kidding about that. He really looked at me like "okay pay close attention Mom." I set my camera down and he took five steps to me all on his own. I screamed out loud, it was such an exciting moment!

It was the highlight of my month. And he finally started crawling (as opposed to army crawling) the same day that he started walking too.
He also jabbers off and on all day long. Mostly it's bye bye, dada and occasionally there's a mama in there too.

Buster

Our family dog Buster had to be put down yesterday. We had him for 15 years and he was full grown when he came to us so he lived a very long time. He was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known. Poor guy was ready to go though. Goodbye Buster. (Please say hi to Chessney for me.)
