It's time

Well after a couple weeks of hearing the words "any time now" from my doctor, one false alarm and many days of wondering, the date is finally set. Did you know that you can actually digress in labor? I didn't but I do now. The first week that I went to my doctor to get checked I was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. The second week I was 2 cm and 80% effaced. Last Monday I was 3 cm and 80% effaced. This week though, a small 2 but still 80% effaced. Everything seems to be going well but my blood pressure has always been pretty border line and because of that the doctor says that she doesn't want me to go past my due date. So, Thursday it is! I can't believe that I have a date. Granted it doesn't necessarily mean that he will be here on Thursday but I know now that as of this week I will be a mommy! So how do you prepare for or atleast feel prepared for something like this? Um... I don't know. His room is ready to go. We have a few pictures that need hung up but other than that we're good. The car seat is in the car, strapped in and ready to go. All of the bags are packed and in the car ready to go. What's left? Well a couple of very sweet people gave me gift certificates for pedicures for my birthday. So tomorrow I am taking the day off of work and I'm going to go get a manicure and pedicure. I will try and have a nice relaxing day before I go in to have the baby. If I'm going to be realistic about it though, I'm sure that I won't be letting myself relax but I'm going to try! I would love to hear suggestions about good things to have in the hospital, things to do the day before, etc. So if you have any thoughts, feel free to share!
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It will be the most exciting day of our lives!

Place your bets...

Well it's getting pretty close to the "big day" here. I haven't posted much of anything because I haven't really been feeling up to it. Things are moving along at a good pace and he could come any day now. So I'd like to hear from you to see when you think the "big day" will come. I'm due May 4th. Let me know what day you think he will be here. Hopefully my next post will have a picture of my beautiful new baby boy! I can't wait to see him, it's been a long time!

My shower

Okay, I've put this off for way too long! This week has been pretty rough. I think that I'm still recovering from all of the excitement from last weekend. Not to mention that on Monday we had a gas leak at work and my doctor made me go home and do kick counts to make sure that the baby was okay for the rest of the day, which of course, was absolutely terrifying!! But we made it through. Both baby and I are doing well. I feel really bleh though! I've completely lost all of my energy. I'm not even interested in reading anymore. I'd rather sit and stare at the boob tube and zone out! So that's about what I've been up to this week.

Last Saturday my dear friends Trish and Sarah threw a baby shower for me. I am sooo spoiled. They kept all of the activities a secret from me up until the big day so everything was such a great surprise! I walked in and there were tables set up everywhere. They decided to have everyone decorate a onesie for Anders! Here are some of the amazing creations

Then they had another table set up with some of the amazing stuff that they (Trish & Sarah) had handcrafted and boughten for me.

Cam and I have decided to go with a space theme for Anders room. So Trish and Sarah decided to incorporate that into the shower also. One thing that I'm really sad that I didn't get a good picture of were the favors that they made which were rocket and planet cookies for everyone. They also made chicken salad croissants, pasta salad, and dirty diaper cookies (aka no bake cookies in a napkin).

And to top it all off, they gave me a rocking chair with an ottoman!! I was so excited! It's absolutely beautiful and matches the furniture in my house. See, I told you I was spoiled! Then I got to open the gifts from everyone else.

It was such a blast to have all of my family and friends together. I couldn't have asked for a better day and Baby Anders and I are so spoiled! Thank you everyone for all of your support and love. I love you all!
