Sunday routine
Just to make it clear, I'm not saying that Sundays are monotonous because I love the fact that two times a week we get to get together with family and catch up. Sundays are Cam's family and Mondays are my family. I know that I'm lucky to have this with our families and that it's not necessarily usual and I'm so greatful for it. That was one of the things that made me want to marry Cam is that there was such a strong family bond and they all tried to stay so close. That means a lot to me. Family is everything. I just want you all to know that I love you even though I may not be the first to show it. I love my family no matter what the distance and I'm so thankful for all that I have. I love you all!

A beautiful summer day
By the way, do you like my "old lady" hat? That's what Cam calls it anyways. I don't know what it is about that hat but for some reason I like it. I probably wouldn't wear it out in public but it's fun to have on sunny days. Here's my favorite picture of Cam from the day.
It was a lot of fun.
After that we met up with Kathy and Brooks. Boy you guys look great in all of your biker gear!! And you guys have quite the tans from it too! We had a great dinner and chat with them. It was fun to catch up. It would be so nice if we could live closer together. Either way, we definately need to make more of an effort to come see you guys. We haven't been so great in the past. We're kind of homebodies, but we're definately trying to get out more.
Then we came home and were just about ready to crash. We watered the new grass in the back yard and then went to water the plants up front. I noticed that it was really quiet and usually when we're outside of the fence, the dogs are standing right at the edge staring at us. So I said something to the effect of "The dogs must be up to something, because they're not standing here panting and staring at us." Cam said that he was sure they were fine. We get done and Cam's walking a ways in front of me to the backyard and says "well I found out what the dogs were doing." Oh great! What now? Luckily it wasn't that bad.
Somehow they both jumped through the open windows into the car and were hanging out basically begging us to go somewhere. Unfortunately they didn't get there wish but they sure made us laugh.

4th of July
I've kind of gone nuts on our yard this year. But I'm glad because it's looking so great right now. I decided that we needed a little fruit patch so I have raspberries and strawberries that I planted here and then I planted some watermelon and cantaloupe seeds but it may be too late for them to actually take off. I love yard work. I always have. It just feels great to stand back and say "wow, I did that." And to see the difference that it makes. Now that I'm on a schedule where I get off early enough in the day to do yard work, it's been great. It helps me unwind from my day before Cam gets home.
After this we went to the cruise-in and walked around for a while with some of our friends. There weren't as many cars as there have been before, but there were some pretty neat ones. All that I really cared about was being out with our friends. It's so great to have a friend who's husband gets along so well with mine. I swear Cam and Daniel could talk as much or even more then Sarah and I can.

Here we go
So today Cam had the day off and I got off of work at two. It's been really hot and because our a/c went out last year, it's been that much worse. We decided that we should take the dogs out swimming.
Because our dogs (or should I say dog) aren't the most well behaved we decided that we needed to go somewhere pretty remote. We had two options, Benson Marina or Cutler Dam. We decided to go to Cutler because since I haven't ever really been there I was hoping it would be a little bit cleaner than Benson. I was wrong. But oh well it's the best we could do. Even though it was dirty we had a lot of fun.
So, we threw a couple of balls out in the water for our dogs and let them swim out to get them. Onyx who isn't very fond of playing fetch, will actually do it and be happy about it if it involves swimming. Lola as always was just nuts for the ball and will do anything to get to it. We didn't take our swimming suits out there because we weren't planning on swimming but we ended up improvising and getting in anyways.
It was a lot of fun to watch them jumping off of the dock and just having fun playing in the water. Here's a video of Lola jumping off of the dock. I apologize for how shaky it is but it's kind of hard to run up a floating dock and keep things straight! I probably should have just stayed in one place. I'm learning...
The best part is that when we came home, they crashed and they are still not moving or causing any trouble!
