Some crazy times

It's been a while since I posted. As is normal, things have been pretty crazy here. At Anders two week appointment a while back, the doctor told us that he had a heart murmur and set up an appointment for him to see the cardiologist a week later. Although we were terrified, it made us feel better to learn that a lot of our immediate family members had either had a murmur when they were born that went away, or still have one to this day and it had never interferred with their daily lives. But the doctor did say that it was quite loud so he wanted us to have it checked out. We went to the cardiologist and found out that he had what is called a PDA and PFO. Basically two holes in the heart that are used to bypass the chamber that gives blood to the lungs while in utero were still open and they usually close up in the first day or two after they are born. He told us that there was a really good chance that they were just healing up slower than usual and it would go away but just to be safe, he was going to schedule an appointment for us to meet with someone from Primary Childrens Hospital. Well yesterday we took Anders to his two month appointment and we couldn't be happier! They've completely healed and he no longer has a heart murmur!!! So we got to cancel the appointment with Primary Childrens. It was so great to find that out and now our minds are at ease about his little heart.

At Anders appointment we found out that he is 13 lbs 6 oz and 24.5 inches long. He's in the 80th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for length! I had been kind of worried about him because he hasn't been eating that well but once I heard how much weight he had put on, my mind was at ease.

We had Anders blessed this last weekend. It was a pretty crazy weekend for us, being the fourth of July and all, but it turned out to be sooo amazing! Thanks to my in-laws and all of the help that they gave us! I'm thankful for Brooks and for him blessing Anders and for Kathy, Virginia and Candace and the extra hands and food that they brang! We definitely couldn't have gotten everything together without all of you. And also all of the friends and family members who were so willing to make food and help out in any way possible. It turned out to be an awesome weekend with family and friends!

Anders is such a blessing for us. We know that he wouldn't have gotten here without all of the prayers that our family members said for us and we are so thankful! We couldn't ask for a more beautiful and sweet baby! He has been such a joy since the day that he was born. We are lucky to have such a happy baby.

Well next week I will be going back to work. I'm thankful for the time that I got to spend at home with him and I'm glad to know that he will be with either mom or dad all day every day. I'm so lucky to have a husband who puts that as high of a priority as I do. Thank you Cam for all that you do.
