Anders sits up very well now. Not crawling and not exactly showing signs of wanting to crawl (although when we put him up on his hands and knees he does hold himself there). But he loves to walk if you hold his hands and walk with him.
He loves faces. If you wear glasses, be warned, he will pull them off if he gets close enough. If you don't, well be prepared for fingers up your nose, little hands tugging at your eyelids or his fingers fish hooking you in the mouth.
Anders now weighs 18lbs 12oz (60%) and is 28 inches long (90%). He's down quite a bit (percentile wise) in weight from the 80% that he was at the last dr.'s appointment. Nursing has been an out and out war since he was about 3 months old. I started giving up on that war about a month and a half ago, but after I realized the effect of that was him dropping to the 60% the war is on again. We will survive!
He still continues to be one easily excitable little boy. I love that I can make him laugh at almost any time of the day.
He still loves his dogs and his dogs still love him. My sister was watching Anders the other day and witnessed the awesomeness of it. He was in his swing and Onyx picked up Anders' teddy bear and went and placed it on top of him in his swing. Good dog!
Anders does really well at eating more solid food now. Although he still pulls some pretty funny faces sometimes.
In the last few days he's started waving his hands wildly in the air. It's really hilarious to watch. He's definately getting better with his coordination.
There are two toys in the house that he loves more than anything else. The remote and cell phone. No, not the toy cell phones from the store, no, those aren't good enough, he wants YOUR cell phone. And somehow he seems to know the difference between the remotes that do or do not have batteries in them. He only wants the ones with the batteries.
He's still a droolin' fool!
Some days I think he's teething, others I don't. The doctor told me that at this age, they usually come in so fast that you won't happen to notice them until you get bit. Yay!
A little while ago he seemed to have a bit of anxiety about being in unfamiliar places or with people that he didn't see regularly. But the last few weeks are making it look like that was just a phase (here's to hoping!).
If I'm trying to hold him and do something on the computer at the same time, it no longer works. He starts pounding away on the keyboard, or leaning so that he can get to it. His favorite past time is pounding on things. Maybe he'll be into the drums one day.
He's such a curious little boy. He always has to know what's going on around him. He's also very wiggly and active. He does not like to sit still for two seconds. Which is really hard on us since he's not exactly mobile yet. It takes a lot to keep him engaged during the day. But, hey he's a boy right? That's why we love boys!
He loves books. Mainly to chew on but a lot of times he will just sit and listen and look at the pictures. This makes mommy and daddy very happy!!
In the last few weeks he's started shaking his head no. I am mortified when he does this! I sure don't sit and shake my head no at him all day. But I think I've encouraged it because one of my favorite things to do from day one has been to kiss each side of his little mouth over and over again while he turns his head trying to catch me. He sure looks cute shaking his little head no at mommy though. I do appreciate the fact that he doesn't know what it means yet!
This one has been really hard, especially with the time change and everything. If we are going somewhere to or from home and it's dark and he's in his carseat, he cries hysterically. Little sobs in the back seat that are the saddest things you'll ever hear. I try turning on the over head light, but that doesn't work. I try reaching my hand in the back and holding his hand but that doesn't work either. I hope that this is just a phase too, someone please tell me that it is?!
The lady who gave him his shots the other day was SUPER MEAN! Every time we've taken him for shots, the crying only lasts at most, for about a minute. But when that lady gave him his shot the other day, I heard the needle hit him, she jabbed it in so hard! He still has big huge bumps on his leg. And the poor little guy cried for half an hour afterwards. My boy doesn't cry like that, she really got him good!
