Yesterday was a really rough day for me. First of all I had horrible accusations from students about two of my substitutes. Every once in a while one comes up but to have to do two investigations at one time is pretty rare and absolutely terrifying! Even one investigation at a time is scary! We also found out that Cam's work isn't going to be able to work around his schedule, so now we have to find a babysitter. And then I came home from work and there were flags all over my yard. I asked the guy who was doing it what was going on and he said "I'm just here marking off your utilities so that they don't dig into them." I replied "Who doesn't dig into them?" and he showed me a paper saying that Millville city had ordered that we have our water system replaced. I asked him if this was something they should have notified us about and he said, "I would sure hope so." Needless to say we were scrambling. Unfortunately Millville City's office hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-noon. Of course I didn't get home until about 3pm and it was Thursday so I assumed they wouldn't be in again until Tuesday but we left them a message anyways. Although it was a rough day, three different things happened that gave me enough of a lift up to make it through the day. 1. Cam called me at work to tell me that the ground everywhere was black ice and to be careful if I needed to go anywhere. 2. Grandma called me at work to tell me the exact same thing. And 3. My aunt gave me a call to let me know that she had found "Pedi-paws" which she had heard me talk about and wanted to let me know where it was in case I wanted to buy it. It's funny, but just knowing that there were people out there worrying and thinking about me helped make things a little better. It's only been a day but somehow every problem that came up yesterday has been resolved with a good ending. It's funny how little things can make a big difference.
I had a co-worker tell me a while ago that her resolution for 2009 which she is currently doing was to find a little something each month and send it to someone. Whether it be a card to a friend that she hasn't spoken to in a while. Or something special for a distant cousin. Just to let them know that she's thinking about them. I love her resolution and think it's one of the best ones that I've heard of.
Once every week or two I open my front door to a package. Inside the package is something from Grandpa and Grandma Reeder for Anders. It makes my day every time to open a package and see something for our little one from his grandparents who are thinking of us. Thank you everyone for thinking of us and I hope that we can make you all feel as loved and thought of as you all make us feel. Always remember that the little things can make such a big difference in others lives.

I'm so bumbed. ALL day Friday I couldn't get you off my mind. I kept thinking that I should call or text you, just to say hi. We ended up being at a doctor's appointment for a few hours, naps, prizes for the dr. appointments, dinner, bed, and suddenly the day was gone. I'm so bumbed I didn't take the time to stop for 1 minute and call you. Well, either way, I was thinking of you and you are amazing to find the good in a hard day!
